We got to spend the entire day together on Sept. 1st while Corey was dove hunting. Abby learned how to say ‘house’. She says it so sweetly. When I give Abby her ‘ba-ba’ (bottle) in the morning, she always pats the couch for me to sit down and hold her. I really cherish these moments. Over Labor Day weekend, Abby walked up to Corey with a ball telling daddy she wanted to play. He got done on the ground with Abby and then she looked at me and patted the ground, which is her sign that she wants you to sit. I sat down and we started passing the ball. Abby then stopped and pushed her little walk ‘n ride Winnie the pooh toy to have it start playing music. Abby LOVES music and wants to sing and dance. Abby is really growing up and changing. I put ‘pretties’ (ponies) in her hair and she looks so grown-up. I love being Abby's mommy.
Abby really is a sweet and easy-going child. She enjoys people so much and wants to be social and play all the time. We go outside and I push her on the swingset. Abby rests her head back and just enjoys the wind on her face. She can hear a dog or an airplane from miles away. Abby does the signs for both when she hears a dog or an airplane. Her signing is really incredible. Abby can say: Go, Stop, Bath, Bear, Thank You, Please, Share, Your Turn, My Turn, Dirty, Clean, Eat, Milk, Grandma, Grandpa, Car and Book.
Abby loves the songs from Signing Time. One of her favorite songs is "look at my hands."
Oh, whoa, look at my hands, look at my hands, they’re dirty.
Oh, whoa, look at my hands, look at my hands, they’re dirty.
A little soap and water. A little soap and water.
Oh, whoa, look at my hands, look at my hands, they’re clean.
Abby says, ‘hi’ and ‘bye’ so sweetly. I am going to miss her baby voice. Daddy likes for Abby to say grandma, which is ‘mama’, grandpa, which is ‘papa’, daddy and mommy. He asks Abby to say them in that order because when she says ‘mommy’ it is an octave higher and is so cute.
Abby's favorite games are to play with the ball and hide-and-seek. But Abby loves to sign ‘go’ and then I chase her around the house. Abby could play this game all day I swear. Abby wears me out. Abby likes to climb up on the kitchen table. She got a hold of my sharpie pen last week and colored the couch slipcover red. It didn’t wash out, but that’s okay. It will always remind me of Abby.
When Abby is hungry she taps her table chair for me to put her in it. She won’t drink milk out of anything but a bottle. Water and juice are okay in a sippy, but not milk. She pulls out all of the waterbottles from the cupboard almost every day. The other day she put her shoes inside some Tupperware which was round. She was trying to put a square lid on top, which was frustrating her because it would’t fit. It wasn’t until I put a round lid on top to seal her shoes inside that she was finally happy.

We have the signing video too. I love it. I have to pull those out so I can relearn it with Owen.
