St. George trip #3 (June 30 - July 5, 2008)
After we took Grammy to the MTC on June 30th, Abby and I went with Aunt Jenny and Uncle Robbie to St. George (once more) for the 4th of July. Daddy again couldn't come with us, which is never fun. Someday we will be able to take a "family" vacation. We spent the week playing in the pool because it was 110 degrees everyday. But there were no complaints from Abby because she LOVES the water. Abby enjoys floating in her swimming ring and would stay all day if we let her. She also loves to play with the ball in the pool. She liked the fireworks. She sat on my lap and watched them. We also took her to the golf course so she could feed the ducks and geese. They actually ate out of her hand, which scared her a bit.
Mom to the MTC (June 30, 2008)
We took my mom to the MTC on June 30th. We were able to move her into her room and then she entered the "missionary" room. I guess it wasn't as hard as I had thought because we knew we would see her in five days. The hard part will be when I get on a plane headed to SLC from LAX. Mom enjoyed the MTC so much. She made wonderful friends. She said she loved seeing the young Elders. She thought they were so sweet.
Orme Family "At Home" Vacation (June 27-28, 2008)
As a family, we decided that instead of paying the terrible gas prices for a family vacation, we would have a weekend vacation at home. It was a blast. We began our "vacation" at Cherry Hill for a fun day of swimming and playing. We took a small break to eat a wonderfully prepared Dutch oven dinner. The next morning we had breakfast at Corey's sister, Brooke's home. We then went to the Dinosaur Museum in Lehi and then for dinner and a movie (National Treasure 2) at Corey's brother's, Ben's home. What a weekend!
Mom's Mission Farewell (June 22, 2008)
My mom’s farewell was on June 22, 2008. She spoke about Family History and told a sweet story about her great-grandfather, Hyrum Daniel Auger and the importance of family prayer. It was a wonderful day with family and friends. I know my mom will have all the support, love and prayers she will need while on her mission. Thank you to everyone who came. I know it meant a lot to our family.
June 19, 2008
On June 19, 2008 we had a baby shower for my cousin's wife, Anna Jensen. I had to show Abby off by showing everyone all the signs she can do. She knows: milk, more, water, eat, ball, airplane, baby, and dog. Everyone was so impressed. Abby is a very bright little girl. While at the shower, Abby and my cousin's son, Braden, kept looking for each other’s belly buttons. It was so funny.
Las Vegas and St. George Trip #2 (June 8-13, 2008)
Abby and I took a road trip to Las Vegas and St. George from June 8-13 with my mom, Uncle Robbie and Aunt Jenny. Corey had to work in Denver, so he couldn’t come with us. In Las Vegas at the MGM, they had real lions which Uncle Robbie showed Abby. She loved them. Then we took Abby to the Rainforest CafĂ© where she was spooked by a fake snake. While in Las Vegas and St. George, she loved the swimming pool. In St. George, when Abby and I walked by the pool and Abby realized we weren’t going in, she would start crying. She is a water baby. We are going to have a really fun summer swimming I can already tell. To entertain Abby in the car, we watched Baby Einstein videos and Signing Time Videos. We also sang songs. Her favorite songs are “If You’re Happy and You Know It” and “Six Little Ducks”. Abby has grown up so much. While on our trip, we discovered Abby knows a naughty word…"The 'S' Word”. Uncle Robbie thinks she is trying to say, “What is it?” Abby will just say it randomly and we all start laughing. It is so hilarious!
June 4, 2008 (Grandma's Mission Call)
My mom received her mission call on June 4, 2008. She will be serving in the Los Angeles Family History Center. She is to report to the MTC on June 30, 2008. (Only 3 1/2 weeks...WOW!)
That night we also cut Abby's bangs. Her first haircut. Abby looks so adorable. She now looks like a big girl.

Race For The Cure (May 10, 2008)

On May 10, 2008 we supported my mom by going to the Gateway for the Race for the Cure. My mom's co-worker, David and his family joined us too. He has been a great friend to my mom. We put Abby in the stroller to come along with us, but she didn’t want to be in it because she must have wanted to race as well. Corey and Uncle Robbie took turns carrying her. We had a lot of fun and Grammy got a pink shirt showing she was a breast cancer survivor. We love you mom and are so happy your treatment went so well.
May 1-7, 2008 (Jenny's Graduation)
On May 2, 2008 was Aunt Jenny’s graduation. Abby thought everyone wearing a cap was Jenny and she kept looking for her. After Jenny’s graduation while we were taking pictures, there were some people taking pictures. Abby saw them squat down for their picture, so she squatted down as well. They thought it was so funny, they moved behind her, squatting down again by her. They began taking their pictures with her. It was so hilarious.
April 19-30
Abby and I play, “Where’s mommy’s nose?” Abby has to touch every nose in the room and will go around to everyone around them and touch their nose. On April 20th while at Grandma’s house, we asked, “Where’s Grandma’s ears?” and Abby found them. She is getting smarter by the second.
While we were at Grandma’s Abby's started waving her hands above her head in the air. I let Grandma know that she wanted her to sing her favorite song. Grandma taught Abby this song and she always wants Grandma or I to sing it to her.
Up Up in the Sky Where the Little Birds Fly (wave hands above your head)
Way Down in the Nest Where the Little Birds Rest (make a cup shape with hands and sway back and forth)
With a Wing on the Left and a Wing on the Right (place left hand on cheek and then right hand on cheek)
“Good Morning Dear Sunshine,” the Little Birds Say. (make a circle above your head)
Abby will always take the phone (or cell phone) and turn it backwards up to her ear and say, “Duh?” It is so cute. Abby loves the phone. She always wants to hold it.
Abby also gets so excited when Daddy comes home. She can hear when he put the keys in the door. She walks to the top of the stairs and waits for him to hold you. Wherever she is she freezes until she see Daddy and then she pust her arms up for him to come get her. It is so adorable. I love seeing Abby get so excited to see Daddy. She really is a daddy’s girl.
She still loves music. But now instead of bobblehead, she rocks her little bumb, which makes the upper-half of her body shake. It is so adorable. Grandma can’t get enough of it. Grandma is watching you this week (April 21-25) while I am at work. She is just having so much fun with you. She is going to miss you so much when she leaves on her mission.
